OWASSO, Okla.—Larry Turner has orchestrated one of the greatest high school baseball dynasties in Oklahoma history.

The head coach at Owasso, Okla. High School for the past 25 years has led the Rams to seven state championships, four runner-up finishes and 15 regional titles during his illustrious career.

Favorite Device: FungoMan
Turner said his favorite training device is a product used on his baseball field called the FungoMan.

“This is a very expensive machine that is worth its weight in gold,” said Turner.

“We can set it on home plate and have it fire ground balls and popups to our kids with precision. It can hit hard or slow rollers. Our kids love this machine.

“Before practice even starts, some of our kids are getting 200 ground balls. One day we might utilize the machine for our corner guys with grounders and popups.  Another day it might be our catchers. The accuracy of the popups is simply amazing to me since I was a former catcher.”
