Bimba Actuator Replacement Policy

Objective:

This policy aims to establish guidelines for handling situations where a customer’s Bimba Actuators fail and must be returned to FMHQ for repair.

Description:

The Bimba Actuators Assemblies are now obsolete and we are no longer sending replacements. For customers with these actuators (see photo below), the faulting actuator must be sent to FMHQ for repair.

Repair/Trade-in Process:

Full Coverage Customers 

Bimba Actuator Is Repairable

  • Send a return label to the customer to ship the Bimba Actuator to FMHQ for repair:
    • If the Bimba Actuator is repairable, then it will be covered under the Full Coverage Package.
    • The customer will receive credit for the Bimba (once shipped and received at FMHQ) toward the purchase of a new upgraded BRT Actuator.
      • The customer is required to purchase a new BRT Actuator. FM reserves the right to excel in technology.
      • This advancement may be due to price or performance.

Bimba Actuator Is Not Repairable

  • If it is not repairable, the Customer must pay for the replacement upgraded BRT Actuators for both BB and SB.
  • Note: The customer will NOT receive credit for the Bimba (once shipped and received at FMHQ) toward the purchase of a new upgraded BRT Actuator.
    • The customer is required to purchase a new BRT Actuator. FM reserves the right to excel in technology.
    • This advancement may be due to price or performance.
  • Extra Bimba Actuator
    • Customer Keeps other Bimba Actuator
      • If the customer wants to keep the Bimba Actuator in their inventory as a backup for other machines, they may do so.
    • Customer Trades in other Bimba Actuator
      • If the customer wants to trade in the other Bimba Actuator, they will receive a discount on the BRT Actuator.

Standard Coverage Customers

  • The customer will ship the Bimba Actuator to FMHQ
    • If the Bimba Actuator is repairable, then an invoice will be emailed to the customer for the cost of the repair.
    • If it is not repairable, the Customer must pay for the replacement upgraded BRT Actuator (see photo below).
      • NOTE: The other throwing mechanism must be sent to FMHQ before the BRT Actuators are sent
      • If the BRT Actuator is on backorder, the customer can wait to send the other throwing mechanism to FMHQ until the BRT Actuator is available.

        • If the customer wants to keep the Bimba Actuator in their inventory as a backup for other machines, they may do so.

Invoicing:
Send Invoice
NOTE: Parts will not be shipped until the invoice is paid in full. 
The invoice will include a detailed breakdown of the charges and instructions on how to proceed with payment.
Recordkeeping:
All communications and invoices related to the obsolete Bimba Actuator will be documented and maintained in our customer records for reference and audit purposes.
Implementation:
This policy will be communicated to all relevant stakeholders, including customer service representatives, sales teams, and customers, through internal training sessions, written documentation, and inclusion in customer agreements and terms of service.
Review and Revision:
This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Any necessary revisions or updates will be made in consultation with relevant stakeholders and in accordance with company procedures.
This policy is effective January 1, 2024, and supersedes any previous policies or guidelines related to Bimba Actuators.
